Last Saturday was one to remember as the DE23 Active team proudly supported the Derby African Union at their first-ever Community Football Tournament.

And it turned out to be far more than just football. The event brought together communities from across Derby in a wonderful celebration of culture, unity and community spirit. Families, friends and neighbours came together not only to cheer on the players but to enjoy the atmosphere, food and music that made the day feel so special.

The tournament itself was packed with talent and excitement. Team Cameroon took home the trophy after an incredible performance, while Team Sudan and Team Nigeria were worthy runners-up. Every team gave their all on the pitch, showing the passion and energy that makes community football so inspiring.

For us at DE23 Active, it was a privilege to be part of such a positive event. Supporting initiatives that bring people together through sport and culture is at the heart of what we do and it was fantastic to see the smiles and laughter.

We can’t wait to see this tournament grow year after year, and we’ll be cheering it on every step of the way. Roll on the next one!
